KINGSWAY COURT HEALTH & WELLBEING CENTRE Registered Scottish Charity No: SC030788    Company Registration No: 375922 Aims & Objectives ‘We intend to work with all the residents of Kingsway and surrounding environs to achieve wellbeing for Kingsway and surrounding environs through establishing awareness of common problems and possible solutions in an integrated community.’  (taken from Dev’t Day 13-02-07) Like Any good community development initiative, Kingsway is much more than an organization delivering a list of services to an area blighted by deprivation.  It adds value. It becomes the hub at the heart of the community.  At one level, it’s the hub for local residents to participate, developing a sense of ownership and trust.  On another level, it’s a gateway to local residents for other service providers, enabling better access to target groups.  It offers sustainable community regeneration because the Centre: • Develops awareness and understanding of health, poverty and inequality issues; • Challenges attitudes and lifestyles, encouraging behavourial change and it aids the integration process; • Acts as a social outlet and source of physical and emotional support for many; • Develops a sense of pride in the community; • Encourages self confidence and personal development; • Promotes individual responsibility and mutual respect.
